#5 Flickr!

Now I really do feel as if I am playing and I'm having fun! Have browsed Flickr in the past, but now I have uploaded some photos, and given some of them descriptions and can see that this is a great way to share photos with friends and family. Recently emailed some family photos to my sister-in-law in Canada and probably crashed her computer with such a big file, as we haven't heard back....next time I'll just refer her to Flickr.
Had lots of fun playing with Retrievr (quite forgot the time) and found some fabulous flower photographs. Will upload one from home when I've got more time.
Also am going to have a play with Trip Planner for my next holiday.
Gotta rush, back on desk!

Technology???

What do we mean by "Technology"?
These thoughts arose after dealing with a customer who "threw a wobbly" as we say in the industry (yes, I've been doing this for 30-something years) because she forgot to push the color copy button on our photocopier, and hence wasted her money. This of course was, in turn, the fault of the copier, the person using it before her, and the two staff members who had tried to help her. She later apologised, explaining that she was not good with "technology".
We all use telephones, mobiles, tv, CD & DVD players, toasters, microwaves etc etc......and we don't stop to think that these are also "technology", so why the fairly common panic, when we meet someting new?
Yes I have been guilty of this myself...on first encountering the ticket machines at the station for example, but now have learned that a few deep breaths and a look at the instructions can help quite a bit! Maybe it's the fact that at the station you know you are on your own, but in the Libary there are always kind friendly staff to help you out.
Anyway, here I am starting to have fun with this blogging etc, and the next post will be all about my adventures with Flickr.

Well I'm here at last!

Hello all!

Finally made it ...gave up trying to do this at work....thank goodness for RDO's! (Sighs of sympathy for the hard-worked BM)

The hardest thing was choosing the template.

When I learn a bit more, I'll post some photos relevant to my blog name....something to look forward to eh?

Onward and upward as they say (not sure who)
